Middle Tennessee State University is congratulating 5,475 students who appear on the dean's list for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for this distinction, an undergraduate student must maintain a current semester grade-point average of 3.5 or above and earn at least 12 semester hours. Kellygrace Loko grew up in the West African country of Togo but came to the U.S. at the start of 2020 to fulfill a dream of helping others. The first part of her journey to pursue a career in medicine was fulfilled as she received her diploma at the University of Mississippi's 171st Commencement ceremonies. Loko was honored as this year's class marshal for the Bachelor of Multi-Disciplinary Studies degree program.

TROY is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Provost's List for the Spring Semester and Term 4 of the 2023-2024 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List. The Spring Semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

Emilie Mai has always known that she wanted to be a dentist. When the Brandon native enrolled as a freshman at the University of Mississippi, she chose an allied health major on the pre-dentistry track, but she knew this was not the right fit for her. She looked at all the available majors and settled on chemistry, specifically forensic chemistry.

The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the president's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. Hinds Community College awarded 1,270 credentials to 972 graduates in four ceremonies held over three days on May 8-10, which means many graduates earned more than one credential. Among the graduates, 448 graduated with honors, including 260 cum laude, 3.2 - 3.59 GPA out of 4.0; 152 magna cum laude, 3.60 - 3.99 GPA and 36 summa cum laude, with a perfect 4.0 GPA. The University of Mississippi selected 80 students to receive a 2024 Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal, the university's highest academic award.

Samford University recognizes 1,931 students named to the Dean's List for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

President's Scholars are those with a cumulative 4.0 grade point average.

Eighty-seven University of Mississippi students were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the liberal arts. The university held an induction ceremony on April 5, 2024, in the Johnson Commons Ballroom on campus. Phi Beta Kappa membership is an honor conferred upon fewer than 10% of each graduating class. Students do not apply for membership but are elected by the chapter after a review of the academic records of each eligible candidate.

Thirteen teams of Mississippi State students in the College of Architecture, Art and Design's innovative Collaborative Studio recently created a master plan for a hypothetical cultural campus. The plan included a freestanding museum, which would hold the university's collections currently housed at the Cobb Institute Museum, Dunn-Seiler Museum and Department of Art galleries. Located adjacent to The Mill Conference Center, the cultural campus also would include the new Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library. The studio is funded by the PCI Foundation, and its projects are focused on the use of precast concrete for structure and cladding for museum designs.

More than 140 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on April 4, 2024, at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

Fifty-eight rising seniors joined the Tassels Chapter of Mortar Board at the University of Mississippi. Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for their achievements in scholarship, leadership and service, provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community.

Two hundred and one students were honored as the 2023-24 class of Who's Who Among Students at the University of Mississippi. The honorees were recognized for their achievements during a ceremony on April 5 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Who's Who Among Students is a respected honor program recognizing seniors who excel academically and demonstrate leadership and community service on and off campus.

The University of Central Arkansas conferred nearly 500 undergraduate and more than 180 graduate degrees and certificates through the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and Graduate School.

Hinds Community College awarded 887 degrees and certificates to nearly 600 graduates in fall graduation ceremonies on Dec. 14, 2023. A number of graduates received more than one credential. In total, 126 students graduated cum laude with a grade point average of 3.2 to 3.59; 72 graduated magna cum laude with a grade point average of 3.6 to 3.99 and 20 graduated summa cum laude with a grade point average of 4.0. More than 670 students graduated from the University of Mississippi in December 2023. Undergraduate and graduate candidates received degrees from the College of Liberal Arts, General Studies and schools of Law, Pharmacy, Journalism and New Media, Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Applied Sciences and Patterson School of Accountancy.
