Samford University Announces Dean's List for Fall 2023 Semester

Samford University recognizes 2,122 students named to the Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

More than 7,000 University of Rhode Island students named to Fall 2023 Dean's List

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the Fall 2023 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and countries. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

MSU students inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for 2023

More than 170 Mississippi State students have been inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for 2023. National Society of Collegiate Scholars inductees are first- or second-year undergraduate students who have completed credits equivalent to one term of full-time study and hold a cumulative 3.4 GPA. The NSCS was founded in 1994 and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and the society is a recognized organization at nearly 300 campuses across the U.S.

UM Students Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

More than 190 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on Oct. 25 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the Honor Roll for the 23EW1 term. Honor Roll is a term-specific achievement that recognizes learners who excel at SNHU. It was established in 2022 to help recognize learners who do not qualify for President's List or Dean's List. Due to differences in term structures, SNHU's online and campus populations have different eligibility requirements for Honor Roll. Eligibility for the SNHU Honor Roll requires that a student earn an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for the term, and meet the following criteria. Campus Students: Part-time, coursework-only, and graduate students studying on campus are eligible for the Honor Roll. Full-time campus students (12+ credits) are not eligible for the Honor Roll, but may be eligible for President's List or Dean's List. Online Learners: Due to differences in term structures, full- and part-time undergraduate and all graduate online students and coursework-only learners are eligible for the Honor Roll. Please note: Full-time online undergraduate students who receive the Honor Roll may also be eligible for President's List or Dean's List. SNHU's President's and Dean's Lists require online students to accumulate 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6 and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Honor Roll is evaluated at the end of every term while Dean's List and President's List are evaluated at the end of each set of paired terms for online students. While acknowledgement of Honor Roll is an achievement, it is not a recognized university honor and has no bearing on eligibility for honor societies, Latin honors or Ceremonial honors at the time of conferral or during the Commencement Ceremony, or any notation on the student's academic transcript or diploma. Mississippi College 2023 Archery Team

Mississippi College congratulates the student who were named to the Choctaws Archery team for the 2023-24 season. The team recently hosted the 2023 USA Collegiate 3D South Central Regionals on Sept, 16, 2023 where they competed against universities from Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Arkansas. Abigail Veidmark took first place in the female bowhunter division, Bryce Burk claimed first in male barebow, Jack Thomas Spears took first in male bowhunter, and they took several first place spots in the teams and mixed teams competitions.

Senior Art Exhibition

The works of visual art and design majors Savannah Wimberly, Lauren Watts, and Lilly Perkins will be featured at the Senior Fine Art Exhibition, August 26 - September 16. This exhibit, entitled "Autonomous Reverie," serves as a launching point for professional practice and allows the students to gain practical knowledge of museum work through the crafting and installing of their exhibit. As the culmination of their BFA and BA studies, this exhibit is a collective representation of each student's skill and mastery of visual art. The opening reception for the exhibit will be at the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Art Gallery on Saturday, August 26, 2-4 p.m. Then on September 11 at 4 p.m., the artists will host a gallery talk to discuss their selected pieces of art. This exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours include Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. This is just one of the many exciting events from Belhaven's School of Arts. Check out Arts Ablaze for plays, dance and music concerts, poetry readings, gallery exhibits and more happening this year.
