MSU's 2025 Orientation Leaders welcome new students

Twenty-five outstanding Mississippi State students are serving as 2025 Orientation Leaders, welcoming over 10,000 admitted students and family members to 15 university Orientation sessions this summer. The Orientation Leaders host incoming freshmen and transfers who are officially becoming part of the Bulldog family. The events include a variety of information sessions and MSU resources to help new students prepare for college life at the university. Orientation Leaders are chosen through a competitive selection process and have an integral role alongside the Division of Academic Affairs staff. They attend a three-credit-hour course in the spring and additional training to prepare for Orientation and other on-campus recruiting events. They also receive a summer stipend, housing and meal plan. Known for their enthusiasm and love for the university, MSU Orientation Leaders gain valuable experience as they lead Dawg Talks, highlight student life and share information about academic programs. Southeast Announces Spring 2025 Dean's List

Southeast Missouri State University has announced its Dean's List for undergraduate academic achievement during the spring 2025 semester. Academic Hall in the spring semester.Students named to the Dean's List earned at least a 3.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 hours of standard graded credit. MSU CALS undergraduates honored for excellence in research

Mississippi State is recognizing eight undergraduate researchers as 2025 George Hopper Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award winners. The award, established in 2022, honors top undergraduate researchers in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Named for the longtime CALS dean and director of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, the award reflects Hopper's legacy of leadership and commitment to student research. He also launched the CALS Undergraduate Research Scholars Program to support hands-on learning alongside faculty mentors. "The Undergraduate Research Scholars Program, funded through MAFES and CALS, is an amazing opportunity for CALS students to explore and enrich their educational experiences," said Cory Gallo, CALS assistant dean and MAFES assistant director. "Through hands-on, real-world research opportunities, our students work alongside world-renowned faculty to help find solutions for the most pressing global issues in agriculture and life sciences."

UWA announces Spring 2025 graduates

The University of West Alabama held spring commencement exercises on May 8 and 9, with President Todd G. Fritch conferring degrees to more than 700 students in the graduating class represent some 22 states across the U.S. and abroad.

Samford Students Named to Spring Dean's List

Samford University recognizes 2,222 students named to the Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Honors Convocation

Mississippi College students and faculty who have distinguished themselves through excellence in scholarship, service and leadership were recognized during the 2025 Honors Convocation on April 24 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Clinton. The ceremony is a revival of MC's traditional Honors Day celebration that had once been an annual event at the Christian University.

Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the Honor Roll for the 2025 C-2 (Mar - Apr) term. Honor Roll is a term-specific achievement that recognizes learners who excel at SNHU. It was established in 2022 to help recognize academic excellence in our part-time and graduate learners. Eligibility for the SNHU Honor Roll requires full-time or part-time undergraduate, graduate, or coursework only online or campus students to earn an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for an individual term. Please note: Full-time undergraduate students who receive the Honor Roll may also be eligible for the President's List or Dean's List. Honor Roll is awarded at the end of each term, while the President's List and Dean's List are recognized at the end of the 16-week campus terms or following paired 8-week terms for online students. While acknowledgment of the Honor Roll is an achievement, it is not a recognized university honor and has no bearing on eligibility for honor societies, Latin honors, or ceremonial honors at the time of conferral or during the Commencement ceremony, nor will it be noted on the student's academic transcript or diploma. It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Spring 2025 President's List. The spring terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

UM Students Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

More than 100 University of Mississippi students were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the liberal arts. The university held an induction ceremony on April 4 in the Johnson Commons Ballroom on campus. Phi Beta Kappa membership is an honor conferred upon fewer than 10% of each graduating class. Students do not apply for membership but are elected by the chapter after a review of the academic records of each eligible candidate.

UM Students Inducted Into Phi Kappa Phi

More than 150 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on April 3 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

University of Mississippi Students Inducted Into Tri-Alpha Honor Society

Over 120 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Tri-Alpha Honor Society, which honors the academic excellence of first-generation college students. The university held an induction ceremony on March 27 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center Student Union Ballroom. Ceremonies on the Booneville, Tupelo, Grenada and DeSoto regional campuses took place in early April.

UWA announces Fall 2024 President's List

The University of West Alabama has announced more than 400 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President's List for the Fall 2024 academic semester. Fall 2024 academic honors recipients represent 64 out of 67 Alabama counties and 97 counties from 20 other states. The President's List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher, completing at least twelve semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a "C." Mississippi State University announces fall 2024 graduates

Mississippi State University congratulates approximately 1,500 students who are among the fall 2024 graduates. MSU President Mark E. Keenum congratulated graduates as their keynote speaker for the December commencement, reminding the class that the university's core values will serve as their foundation for life after graduation and help them change the world. "You understand our values that we uphold here at Mississippi State," he said. "Integrity: Strive to have a reputation in your life of being the kind of person that other people can trust and count on. Hard work: You had to work hard just to be sitting here today, continue that work ethic. Hinds Community Collge awarded 966 degrees and 637 certificates, which means many graduates earned more than one credential. Among the graduates, 233 graduated with honors including 136 cum laude, or 3.2 to 3.59 grade point average; 75 magna cum laude, or 3.6-3.99 GPA and 22 summa cum laude, a perfect 4.0 GPA.
