Thirteen teams comprised of students from each major in Mississippi State's College of Architecture, Art and Design-architecture, art, building construction science and interior design-competed for top honors and a cash prize in the annual Brasfield & Gorrie Student Design Competition. First launched in 2011, the competition is sponsored by one of the nation's largest privately held construction firms based in Birmingham, Alabama. Brasfield & Gorrie also has a Jackson office, which opened in 2015.

More than 11,500 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean's List for the summer 2025 term. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

More than 900 students graduated from the University of Mississippi in August 2025. Undergraduate and graduate candidates received degrees from the College of Liberal Arts, General Studies and schools of Law, Pharmacy, Journalism and New Media, Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Applied Sciences and Patterson School of Accountancy.

The U.S. Department of Energy selected University of Mississippi graduate student Abigail Hogue for its University Nuclear Leadership Program graduate research fellowship, where she will use artificial intelligence to help improve nuclear fuel development.

For summer semester 2025, 340 University of Alabama Early College students were on the Director's List obtaining a 3.6 or higher GPA for the term.

Student participants in Mississippi State's BRIDGES Undergraduate Research Opportunity gain valuable experience preparing them to take the next step toward the workforce or continued studies in graduate school. BRIDGES is short for Building Relationships that Intentionally Develop Generations of Excellent Scholars, and it engages students in meaningful, paid work at various MSU research centers, such as the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems, Center for Cyber Innovation, Raspet Flight Research Laboratory and Social Science Research Center, among others. The program was established by the university's Office of Research and Economic Development and the Division of Access, Opportunity and Success. Middle Tennessee State University has released the final graduate list and congratulates the students who received their degrees at its spring 2025 commencement ceremonies. The University of West Alabama has announced nearly 600 outstanding undergraduate students named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2025 academic semester. The Dean's List gives recognition to those undergraduate students those with grade-point averages between 3.25 and 3.79, completing at least twelve semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a "C." Middle Tennessee State University is congratulating 5,986 students who appear on the dean's list for the spring 2025 semester. Hinds Community Collge awarded more than 1,200 degrees and certificates to 900 Hinds graduates over three days, May 14-16, which means a number of graduates earned more than one community college credential. Among the graduates, 437 students graduated with honors, including 220 cum laude, or 3.2 to 3.59 grade point average; 154 magna cum laude, or 3.6-3.99 GPA and 63 summa cum laude, a perfect 4.0 GPA.
