Hinds Community College has announced the Deans' Scholars for the Spring 2018 semester. Deans' Scholars are those students with a cumulative 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average.

Mississippi University for Women has recognized students who have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester. Those on the Dean's List have earned a quality point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale. The university congratulates those students who choose to dare, dream and achieve.

The W has recognized students who have been named to the President's List for the Spring 2018 semester. In order to qualify for the President's List, the student must be enrolled full-time and have a quality point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale for the semester. The university congratulates those students that choose to dare, dream and achieve.

Southern Arkansas University announced the names of 371 students who earned a 3.5 or higher GPA for the spring 2018 semester and recognition on the Southern Arkansas University Dean's List.

Hinds Community College had five graduation ceremonies spanning May 10, 11 and 13. Over the five ceremonies, Hinds awarded 1,839 degrees and certificates to 1,319 people, with some people receiving multiple credentials in academic, career or technical programs. This is the largest number of credentials Hinds has ever awarded for one graduation season. Over the academic year including summer 2017 and fall 2017 ceremonies, the college will have awarded more than 3,900 credentials, a 12 percent increase over last year and an 85 percent increase over five years ago. Of the 1,319 spring graduates, 265 achieved cum laude, 3.2 to 3.59 grade point average; 204 achieved magna cum laude, 3.6 to 3.99 GPA and 137 achieved summa cum laude, 4.0 grade point average. Hinds Community College President Dr. Clyde Muse reminded graduates that they are part of a long tradition that began when the college was founded in 1917 as an agricultural high school. "The power of education is that it drives our vision for a better life. And, while the graduates today represent a diverse set of circumstances, they are connected by their belief that a community college education is a step up to a broader opportunity to build a better life and to contribute to the communities we live in," Muse said. The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is proud to announce the 2018 Study Abroad Grant recipients for Session A. The grants, worth $1,000, were awarded to 50 students nationwide.

Hinds Community College graduated more than 1,000 students in three ceremonies Dec. 15 at the Muse Center on the Rankin Campus. Among the graduates, 129 achieved summa cum laude, a 4.0 grade point average; 74 achieved magna cum laude, a 3.6 to 3.99 GPA and 21 achieved cum laude, 3.2 to 3.59.

The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the dean's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

More than 400 students received diplomas at Harding University's commencement exercises on Dec. 16, 2017. Graduates include students from the College of Allied Health, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the Cumberland School of Law dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 10 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
