Mississippi College leaders recently recognized 89 outstanding students at the initial meeting of the newly revised "Who's Who" chapter on the Clinton campus.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is proud to announce the 2018 Study Abroad Grant recipients for Session A. The grants, worth $1,000, were awarded to 50 students nationwide.

Hinds Community College graduated more than 1,000 students in three ceremonies Dec. 15 at the Muse Center on the Rankin Campus. Among the graduates, 129 achieved summa cum laude, a 4.0 grade point average; 74 achieved magna cum laude, a 3.6 to 3.99 GPA and 21 achieved cum laude, 3.2 to 3.59.

More than 400 students received diplomas at Harding University's commencement exercises on Dec. 16, 2017. Graduates include students from the College of Allied Health, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Sciences, and the Honors College.

The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the dean's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

Nearly 600 students were awarded degrees at Jacksonville State University's winter commencement on Dec. 15.

Mississippi University for Women has recognized students who have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2017 semester. Those on the Dean's List have earned a quality point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale. The university congratulates those students who choose to dare, dream and achieve.

The W has recognized students who have been named to the President's List for the Fall 2017 semester. In order to qualify for the President's List, the student must be enrolled full-time and have a quality point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale for the semester. The university congratulates those students that choose to dare, dream and achieve.

To qualify for the Cumberland School of Law dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 10 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Hinds Community College graduated nearly 1,200 over the three days of ceremonies on May 12, 13 and 15, with more than 800 participating in one of the ceremonies. Those graduates received more than 1,500 certificates and degrees since some graduates will receive more than one credential. Of the total number of graduates, 127 graduated summa cum laude, which is a perfect 4.0 grade point average; 130 graduated magna cum laude, which is a 3.60 to 3.99 grade point average and 238 graduated cum laude, which is a 3.20 to 3.59 grade point average. Three of the ceremonies were held at the Clyde Muse Center on the Rankin Campus. One ceremony was held on the Utica Campus.
