Nearly 500 students were awarded degrees as part of Jacksonville State University's Summer 2021 commencement on August 6.

Southeast Missouri State University has announced its spring and summer 2021 graduates.

A total 593 Hinds Community College students graduated in one of three ceremonies on July 30 with 320 students choosing to participate in one of the ceremonies. Hinds awarded a total of 700 credentials, with some students earning more than one credential. Of the total 593 graduates, 85 graduated cum laude, 53 graduated magna cum laude and 69 graduated summa cum laude. Among those who graduated were the following:

President's Scholars are those with a cumulative 4.0 grade point average.

Hinds Community College held three graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 13 at the Rankin Campus and a fourth ceremony on Saturday, May 15 at the Utica Campus. "Commencement is a proud occasion for the Hinds Community College family. Every graduation ceremony is special at the college as we celebrate the success of each student," said Hinds President Dr. Stephen Vacik. "It's important that we truly celebrate what you have accomplished, what you have achieved and what you're going to achieve. You have made it through a series of unusual circumstances to get to this point and you are to be commended." Nearly 1,000 students participated in one of the four ceremonies, including students eligible to participate in previous ceremonies cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, Hinds conferred 1,761 degrees or certificates, with some students receiving more than one credential. Out of those, 300 graduated cum laude with a grade point average of 3.2 to 3.59; 240 graduated magna cum laude with a grade point average of 3.6 to 3.99 and 111 graduated summa cum laude with a grade point average of 4.0. The University of Mississippi welcomed more than 200 students into the UM chapter of Phi Kappa Phi for the spring 2021 semester. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines.

The University of Mississippi will celebrate more than 5,000 candidates for graduation in the Class of 2021 during the university's 168th Commencement exercises April 29 - May 2.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2021 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses).

The University of Mississippi selected more than 60 students to receive a 2021 Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal, the university's highest academic award.

The Debbie Norris scholarship typically goes towards the students' final two years at MC. The award is for $1,000 annually. Students are eligible to stack it with other scholarships. Admissions director Kyle Brantley believes the scholarship speaks volumes about the highly regarded administrator. This year, Norris is busy overseeing the university's complex national re-accreditation process. She invests considerable time to make it a successful enterprise every few years. "Dr. Norris has made such a strong, positive impact on MC over her career," Brantley said. "We're delighted to be able to honor her." The scholarship bearing her name, he said, "will help bring other influential transfers to our campus community."

A total of 13,128 students enrolled during the fall 2020 term at The University of Alabama made the Dean's List with academic records of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale), or the President's List with academic records of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's Lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
