Utica, MS (07/13/2026) — Hinds Community College's Utica Campus is hosting the Thurgood Marshall College Fund SOAR (Seeking, Observing, and Achieving Results) HBCU Scholars Program this week, bringing high-achieving, rising-high school seniors to the historic campus for leadership development.
WHAT: A free, weeklong residential summer program providing intensive college preparation, financial aid workshops and academic mentorship for rising high school seniors.

Wednesday, July 15 | 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Students engage in interactive team-building and leadership exercises highlighting the campus's academic programs and career pipelines.
Student Capstone Presentations & Professional Development
Thursday, July 16 | 2 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Scholars present their weeklong team projects, reflecting on personal growth, future educational goals and career aspirations.
