Hinds CC graduates summer class of electrical line workers
Raymond, MS (08/20/2025) — Six students graduated from Hinds Community College's Electrical Line Workers program in July, the third class of program graduates since fall of 2024.
Those completing the non-credit workforce program included Lake Hutchinson of Clinton, Jonathan McCallum of Wesson, Craig McCraney of Clinton, Brain Morrow of Brandon, Sawyer Smith of Madison and Kaeded Strickland of Brandon.
Among other tasks, the 16-week program requires students to be able to climb 40-foot and 65-foot poles, set poles by hand, build and take down electrical lines, operate bucket and digger trucks, learn about electrical components, including transformers, and perform safety tasks, including CPR. The students also earn a Class A Commercial Driver's License through Hinds' partnership with KLLM Driving Academy.
